ACT clutch break-in question

I just had and ACT street disc installed on my 99 max this past monday. The seals, pilot bearing and throw out bearing were replaced as well. My problem is that I have really bad chatter in 1st gear and reverse. It's also present when i shift from 1st-2nd, 2nd-3rd and so on, but its isnt bad at all on those shifts, only in first and reverse is it really bad. Its to the point where it shakes the entire front of the car pretty hard. I'm still in the break in period and my question is, if I take off from 2,000 rpms will that hurt the clutch? my reason for this is that the chatter is very minimal if the rpms are higher. Now i'm not talking dumping the clutch at 4500K or anything like that, just around 2K. thanks for the help. By the way, I have a V2 S/C.

Did the installer carefully clean all the grease/oil off the flywheel and PP? Did the installer have the flywheel resurfaced? It's clearly stated on ACT's instructions that these steps MUST be taken to insure proper break-in

Taking off at 2,000 rpm shouldn't really hurt it. Just make sure you let the clutch all the way out and not ride it. The chatter is very normal. It will improve with time, just drive the car carefully for the first 500 miles (not wot through the gears).

He did resurface the flywheel, and I hope he carefully cleaned it. It was a specialty tranny shop so I would imagine he would, I should probably give him a call and check. I already have 250 miles on it, and don't rev past 3,000 rpms. I've had a few smooth take offs out of 1st with barely any chatter, so hopefully it's breaking in. Thanks for the responses.

hmm.. my ACT was docile when i put it in.. no chatter at all..

my break in was 600 miles city before i went up anything past 3k..

it sucked hard core.. but eh.. worth it.. holds the supercharger quite well.. just my left leg is huge from the HDMM pressure plate.
