maxima problem paranoia

am i the only one that goes crazy when i drive around and smell a different smell or hear a different sound from ordinary? Everytime i drive around and travel to an area that smells like sh*t, the first thing i do is blame it on the maxima. "Dam, my tranny fluid is leaking, dam my exhaust is messed up" Same with sounds. you know how many people have played easy tricks on me cause i jumped to conclusions when the sound was off another car or something they created to make me look like a fool...

for some reason i lost faith in my car and always have this thought in the back of my head that my car is gonna die on me any minute now...even though i see no major problems...

huummmmm...maybe you should seek the help of a health professional ?

That happens to me sometimes. I remember sitting at light recently and smelling burning rubber. I thought it was my car for a minute but it turns out that the smell came from somewhere else.

think positive, you have a good car as long as you take care of it. it's also good to have AAA for long away trips.

I do the same thing... if something is making an odd noise while im driving or in traffic I always suspect it's coming from me... it always ends up being the 1970 pinto or truck next to/behind me though.

I always keep a good eye on my gauges/temp and stuff too... I think it's from driving a Ford before I had the Maxima!

i'm sayin'... my car is laggin'.. and i don't like it... i say i'm gonna do a lot of things to make the car better.. but never have time.. i still need to clean the Throttle body.. adjust the throttle cable... do the 60k service at a dealer.. and more cleanin' in the engine... so many things to do.. to keep the car nice!

if i had a car that ****ted out on me a couple of times (like your case mecca) i would be thinking the same thing... i was driving my car /w tranny problems for 6 months, and when I finally got the tranny rebuilt, it feels like everything is sooo smooth. so if you're used to ****, like i was for a while, anything that makes it better is perfection! so i guess, in my case, i am thinking opposite as you are haha

grrrr, i hope your 3rd gear falls out j/k

thats nice that you are all fixed up. How much did it cost bro? and yes i agree with u. When you have your car just die on u twice in less than 2 weeks for unknown reasons at the time, it kind of kills your faith in your car...

Sounds I don't worry about as much as smells. Having a rough suspension tends to bring tons of unwanted little noises here and there.
The smells usually end up being a truck or something, so I'm beginning not to pay attention to those either

oh i trully beleive my car is cursed. yet i am looking at another max its just *that* car.

well i get that gasoline smell inside my car while driving.. its so random that i've given up figuring what it is. worst case scenario i am blowing another HG and the water is causing the plugs to misfire or something hence the smell.. actually it happens when its really hot. whatever, i used to be paranoid. now i am not.. ive had every moving part go wrong so nothing scares me anymore.
