Are we all delusional.??
Everything I read about Maxima's always tear it apart for it's looks. I always read how beautiful the 3rd gen's are, but the 4th gen's are butt ugly...now I take exception to this since I own a 95 SE....I love my car, and while I agree the rear end isn't going to win any beauty pagents, I love how the rest of the car looks, especially lowered. In the right light (ie, at dusk) the emerald green looks really sharp and you can see subtle creases (the ones intended by Nissan...not the door dings)that accentuate the car. I know I am not the only one...I've have many friends who love the looks. The 5th gen took a while to get me to like it but I do...what do you think?
of all generations, I still think the 4th gen is the best. I think that once I have added a body kit the car will look much better. I also agree that the rear is not that great and I wish that had done something different, but oh well...
I think a cross between the 3rd and 5th gen Maxima would make for the best looking Maxima. The 4th gen isn't that great looking until you lower it, add some decent wheels, clear front corners, and add a front spoiler. After those mods, the 4th gen Max takes on a different personality. The 3rd gen looks good lowered, but a lot of aftermarket wheels and body kits just don't do the car justice. Almost like putting a body kit on a BMW.....why?

3rd gen interiors are much better IMO, but I guess the 97models have better asses.........and a better grill...but a few mods can take care of those looks on a 95-96, i think if you remove the nissan emblem on the grill, it'll be fine until u add the SMX.......and then just by the clears, and paint them, or keep em clear....i like clears as of now, but hey thats why they call them "mods". Do what u must to have you vehicle appeal to you, hell with anyone else. Be like the Honda dudes....they go way out there, and our market doesn't even allow for that, so u can go wrong with any of the models.............
Hmmmm...

My 3rd gen looked great stock, let alone modded....it's difficult to say that about 4th or 5th gens...
Obviously the Generation that you own looks the best. So that's why I think the 5th generation is the best.
Then:
4th gen (perfect proportions)
1st gen (ditto)
3rd gen (odd Proportions, Only the rear looks good)
2nd gen (odd proportions)
