without any warnings.....
I was lucky that I just got off the highway, and was driving on a slower road. I had it towed to nissan.....at there they determined it was the MAF.
They were gonna charged me $500.00 for the sensor, but I told them I want to buy the one from 2001 for $100.00 (which I did....ordered)
and they also charged me $90.00 to put on the new software.

yup.....
1.1 hr for the labor
ALSO THERE IS A TSB OUT FOR THE MAF sensor.....so if you have 2k2-2k3....go get it done. They will give you new MAF sensor (the whole assembly) and new air box, and also update the software

Larry, they didn't put it on for me. I ordered the 01 MAF through parts myself. So, I'm still gonna have SES light on? but its gonna work though right?

clipse-this is the 2nd time that it had happened. Yea, i'm using aftermarket intake

Be sure after you clean your filter that you let it dry very very well before reinstalling it. The oil can coat the MAFS and cause it to throw a failure code. All you need to do is clean the little piece that hangs down inside the MAF sensor and it will work if this is your problem.

I am up to a total of over 1000.00 in savings for Org members by giving this advice (three people had dealers tell them they needed to spend big bucks for a new MAFS, which worked fine after I told them to clean it.) Anyone who has ever had a MAF sensor fail with an aftermarket intake needs to try and clean it first.

actually the 1st time that it failed, is b/c I put too much oil on it.
so, this time I didn't clean it, instead I bought a new filter.....thinking that would solve the problem....but i guess it didn't
