Sensor cleaning for tuneup?
I found this page describing how to clean some of the engine sensors:

Any reason why NOT to do any of this?

I agree with the MAF cleaning, but I'm not so sure on a few others. TPS is a variable resistor, I'm pretty sure the internal resistor is sealed. The engine coolant temp sensor should remain clean if you maintain your cooling system. Even if it's dirty, the particles attached to it heat up to the same temp as the water their submerged in. Intake Air Temp sensor, well OK clean it up. The o2 cleaning process just doesn't sit well with me either. But hey, ya never know, it may be effective. ![got me](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/ne_nau.gif)
A few other sensors on the Maxima which are subject to contanination are the Crankshaft postion sensors, both POS and REF. They are magnetic sensors and tend to collect fine metalic dust which could lead to signal interferance. Also the Camshaft position sensor might be one to take a look at as well. I'm not familiar with how it works, I've never worked on one.
Good find Ben!
