sensa-track struts

Hey guys I wanted to know if anybody has the Monroe Sensa-Track struts or shocks installed on their vechicle. I am really on a budget I can get them for 79.99 and they come with lifetime warranty. I would like to get the adjustabele KYB ones but don't have the dough. I would really like some real feedback.

I got KYB GR-2s for $260 shipped. I like them and they cost less than the Monroes.

Re: sensa-track struts

Yeah, I had Sensa-trac on my 91SE, and the car rode better than stock. I highly recommend them, or the Gabriel brand ones too, they both are top notch.

Does Edelbrock make the Performer IAS for the Max yet? Probably not, but Those would be the shocks I would use

GR-2s are great. I've had them for 2 years and not a single problem. Rides a little stiffer than stock but now my Max handles much better. Also, I asked this question 2 years ago and someone recommended I steer away from the sensa-tracs. I hear the GR-2s last longer but I could be wrong...

Do the Gr-2's have a lifetime warranty, because the KYB AGX do.

Is the 79.99 for a set of 2 struts and 2 shocks? If the price is for each then I would probably just get the Gr-2s or save a little more and buy AGXs.

My parents got tired of me complaining about the worn out suspension so I'm getting some GR-2s since they'll be almost the same price as the Sensa-Track struts from Pep Boys. They're paying for that and they're also paying for some new parts (bearings, mounts, dust boots) and they'll be paying for the install labor. The only thing I'm paying for is the Maxspeed springs All of my stuff should come in by next week

The Sensa-Track struts are excellent (got them on my mom's Civic which I used to drive), but they feel a little worn out faster than the others

Maxspeeds and GR2 isn't a good combo. The springs will definately overpower the GR2s. Well in my case they did. I might have gotten a bad set of maxspeeds though. Just want to let you know.

I need them to last me over a year so they'll be fine. My suspension is completely worn out (since 2000 - found an old Jiffy Lube oil change invoice from previous owner) so I need a new suspension. Instead of getting Monroe struts, I wanted GR-2s and I want my car lowered so Maxspeed are the cheapest ones.

I'll be getting Illuminas and probably Eibach springs near the end of next year. Going to start looking for a job in a week or two Hopefully luck is on my side

Ya GR-2's are not made for dropping that is why I decided to spend the money and get the AGX. The GR-2's are just like the stock ones just a little bit stiffer.

you're going to spend 5 or 6 hundred dollars with labor for this set up and then pay another 9 hundred next year?.. it doesn't make sense.. if your goal is to get eibach/illuminas.. then get it.. don't go blowing your parents money senselessly.

i rode in my friend's 2k with H&R/GR2 and it is a very good combo.. sporty suspension.. dropped not slammed. that is what i will be getting.. when money starts growign on trees.

I see what you're saying, but my parents don't want to spend the extra money on expensive stuff like that (they're almost twice the price). I need a new suspension now and the Pep Boys suspension will be about the same as the GR-2 price. I'm paying for the springs myself so the price for my parents is just a few bucks higher than what they would've gotten it done at Pep Boys for. Well, it's cheaper than Pep Boys since we're getting it done by our mechanic. They don't care about a few bucks extra since I saved them $$$ by doing my own tune up

I'll be in college next year so I'll see how my money saving goes since I'll be spending a lot in college. By the time college comes, I don't think I'll have money for Illuminas/Eibach setup, but it's one of my goals Just like one of my goals this summer was to go find a job. It's been a month and a half and I still have to start that in a week or two I'll see what happens when time comes, but for now, dreaming about the future is priceless =P Who knows, I'll probably have my money blown off on mods for the Max by next year

I know I'll probably reconsider that setup since I'll be selling the Max once I get out of college. Then I'll probably get another Max
