carfax ques...

hey guys,
quick carfax question...
my girlfriend is looking at buying a 01 maxima, and when we did a carfax on it, it stated it had a commercial registration reported on it, for business purposes. does this mean it was a rental, or just a company car?

thanks

might have been a company lease, rental car, or could have been personal lease but written through a private employer. My son's nanny has a pathfinder she leases but did it through the nanny agency (saved her money somehow).

Personally, I wouldn't buy the car unless you can find out how it was used and was comfortable with the answer.

Run away!

Seriously, they know where they got the car. I'm going to bet it was wrecked, they bought it at auction and fixed it and since the damage didn't reach that magic number (is it 11% of the value?) then they didn't have to report it.

RUN RUN RUN!!! And, go back to that dealer one more time just to let them know you'll NEVER go there again because you feel like you were about to get shafted.

good luck, but now they've had time to get the story straight... don't be surprised if the car starts falling apart in a year.

actually, ask them to buy an aftermarket warranty for you and see what they say... and NOT one that requires you to bring it back to that specific dealer. I bet they say no, because they know what's about to happen.
