guess what I found in my cat....

this!

I am still thinking how the hell did these two bastards got in? I had this intermittent rattling and today I shaked the cat a little and I heard something in it. After disconnecting the y and the cat, I found these two and they are located between inside the cat right after the Y. My guess now is that they are from the stock y pipe.

Son of a..... you aint having no luck. I still cant make out what those two pieces wouldve been on the stock Y. I dont remember anything small like that coming off the Ypipe. You sure that aint any part of the inside of the cat falling apart?

right now, I just hope it is not from the engine (which I highly doubt, I dont think they will pass thru the exhaust manifold with a size like that) It's not the cat...I checked it and it looks fine.

my EGT was lowered dramatically today after these two parasites were off the car. it never went over 700C after boosting from 3rd - 4th. now that explains why I had that high EGT problem at partial throttle.

I thought it was heatshield or my ypipe in the beginning...after I fixed the ypipe, the noise was still there. then I unbolted the heatshield and found nothing was there....I hit the cat couple times and found there's something there.

have you taken off the cat and took a look? you can tell if the cat is falling apart or not. it should look like mesh-wired.
