That's one crazy ride. Very nice though. I would NOT want to park that car outside...

Looks like a good start. Now find a solid chunk of cement to store your car in when you go out.

precisely

this is precisely what i'm aiming to do with my i30. Issues for public consumption (help me solve

Powering the Win98 system down properly when car is shut down. One possibility is UPS but it adds weight.

Inverter? Or do you use a notebook?

Video driver? Anyone got a decent Windows98 video driver for an Alpine CVA1005?

Umm.. there's more.. but that's a start..

1. Powering down Win98 isn't a problem at all. On my system I have my inverter hooked up to the battery in a relay so that the ignition kills it. Just shutting off the power to it is not a problem, what you need to do is use a program called TweakUI to disable the scandisk at startup.

2. I happen to use a 300 watt $35 inverter but alot of people also use a DC - DC converter since it's alot more efficient than a DC - AC - DC inverter. You can make DC - DC converters or purchase them.

3. I'm not sure about the head unit you have put what kind of input does it have? Does it have regular rca tv inputs or does it have vga? If it has vga you're all set just use your standard video card but if it has regular tv auxiliary rca type inputs you need a video card with a tv out option.

Good luck, I love your car, a computer would be a nice addition to it Acitrano =)

I'm currently looking for a screen for my ride as i currently just have a computer playing mp3's controlled by remote.

You are nuts!! I can't believe somebody acutally did this! You got some ***** man!

I think it would be very educational if you post a very detailed installation instructions for your kick-*** system. I am very curious about stuffs like where the computer is located at, where to get the lcd screens and how to hook it up and all that. Where did you get that CRT tube that fits in there?
Man, you are the man. I would be too afraid to try anything like that.
