Thats upwards of 3 grand in damage because of the lower running board. Other then that, it appears to be in good shape.

its a bit of a toss up IMO. if its 2k for the car and 3k in damage, thats 5 all together. with 51k miles and an accident on the record for a 95' GLE you can prolly pick up around 7k for it. so assuming nothing goes wrong you could make 2thousand off it

just buy a new door, Dont put the holes in it to pull out the dent, It never looks right after that, Go to a body shop, It should cost around 800-1650 dollars to fix,

salvage means...stay away...Sprint and Tom are on the money here...not worth the time and effort...2 g's...u'll barely make that back in the parts if you part it out..

yeah u guys are right....i just looked at the car at the lot, and the pics dont do justice. The damage kind of wraps around under the car a little and there are a bunch of damaged wires under the door jamb where it was ripped open. Im sure someone will get it though.

side hits aren't very good fixers. a lot of things get screwed up when they are hit in thye side like that. that isn't just cosmetic damage either there will be some bow in the frame also.

but for $2k and figure 3000-3500 to fix it it will be a pretty nice car. BTW the titlte wont be stamped after it gets inspected depending on how good the body work is.

Yeah, there's an underlying principle here. If you've got time and you're an expert at something, you can generally put your expertise to work and profit from it. If you are a hobbyist (most on this forum are) or a dabbler, trying to fix things that require a pro is a waste of time and complete waste of money.

If a salvage is such a good deal, then why doesn't a body shop pick it up and fix it at wholesale cost and free time?

Again, if you are in the car business and plan on fixing it in your spare time and have access to all necessary equipment, then maybe it's worth a shot.
