do your wheels stick out past the fender? do you have any pics?

 

depends on your original offset and how many mm your planning on widening

 

I need to move them out about an inch, and thats how far the wheels will stick out. I want to see how bad it looks that way.

Ever since I got the H&R springs, I've desired widening the rear track a bit. The front seems fine. I'm thinking about gettin' me some 5mm or 10mm hubcentric spacers.

 

damn an inch spacer on what offset wheels?

35mm offset is about flush with the fenders it does rub if the car is slammed 45mm is stock

 

next time you come over remind me i'll show you and pics i have

 

aiiite thought you wanted to see how 35mm looked in the back... the Blitz are 45mm all around cept with the 10mm spacers in the front

Hey guys...i was going to post a similar thread, but I think I can get my questions answered here. I have the TE 37 18x8.5 +40, but I can't get the Center caps on as the axle sticks out too much...so will wheel spacers solve that problem and is it safe to drive w/. wheel spacers esp if I go to the track almost once a month?...thanks

 

An inch? You've got to be exaggerating? Even with Cobra rotors and 300ZX calipers I only had to go about 14mm. 4mm of that was from the shape of the rotor and 10mm was from the shape of the caliper. This is with high offset (+45mm) skinny wheels 7.5" Kosei K1s.

If you REALLY have to go a full inch (25mm+) it is going to 1) Look retarded without fender flares, and 2) not work. You will never find a 1" spacer, and 3) not work again because you will never find lug studs long enough.

 

I believe there are companies like Crow automotive that make custom wheel spacers to the specs you want, so i'm assuming they'd be able to provide long enough studs, but it's true what Nealoc is saying, i don't think you'd want to go much past a total offset of ~33mm...

 

I have 5mm spacers in the rear because my new altima wheels have a bad offset on the rears making them look too tucked it. Any way I want to get an even larger spacer like 15-20mm for the rear so that the wheels are just inside the fender well, which I think will look perfect. The only problem is you have to buy the H&R spacers which are hella expensive and you have to install new longer studs.

 

I have 10mm H&R spacers (they are not available) on the max in order to clear my Stillen big brakes up front. Do not use spacers unless there's a 'functional' reason in doing so. If you absolutely have to get spacers, then go with H&R spacers b/c they are hubcentric. If you go with spacer that's more than 8mm thick, you'll need to extend your wheelstuds. It's not worth all that trouble if it's a 'cosmetic' mod you're trying to achieve.
