Hi i was wondering how much is a Stilling Filtercharger/filter? because i went cheap and i bought an S&B high flow filter and charger......but now when i drive i have a "check engine" light on...and i found out its because i had to disconnect a sensor..... i think the O2 sensor... but i couldn reattach it because there was no plug on the filter.... so now i have the sensor exposed int he engine... what do i do? is that common on all filters? or should i just reset my ECu....... what do i do....? should i have gotten the stillen one?

thanks

Are you talking about the intake temp. sensor?

Air filter

You could just drill some holes in your tubing before your Mass airflow sensor and mount it there (sort of like how The Place Racing has theirs set up). If you mount your sensor like that, you should be alright. You are going to have to position and drill out the holes in order to mount the temp sensor so be careful when measuring.

Lets see here

There should have been a template that housed the air sensor in your airbox. Looks somthing like this:

You need to take this part and drill a new location for it to reside on the tubing just before your Mass Airflow Meter (big black tube with a cylinder inside of it). Either you do this of you could by a K&N kit from Stillen. It depends on what you feel comfortable doing. If you don't feel comfortable drilling out the holes or don't understand what to do, get the Stillen or JWT kit. It will be a whole lot easier to install and it has a mounting location on the airfilter for the sensor. So no drilling with the Stillen or JWT kit.

I had the very same problem.

Before I knew of Stillen I bought my K+N cone filter from A place called Bad Boyz in Brooklyn. I got the check engine light as well. I just covered half the sensor with a piece of tape, placed it inside the filter, and tightened the clamp securing the filter to the adapter. It has been running for over a year and a half with NO problems at all.(and the tape is still on!)
Try it and see.

JWT

The JWT runs around $110 if you get it from Cattman http://www.cattmanperformance.com/ and if you call JWT direct like I did it ran $120 and I bought one for my 2000 Crew Cab thinking I would get a better deal. Cattman has the better price on the JWT. The JWT keeps everything needed for the emissions, air pumps etc. It is a direct replacemnt and very easy to install, 20 minutes tops. It does make a sucking sound at certain RPMs but not to bad. It doesn't make much additional noise. On the other hand the Crew Cab sounds like an older 4 barrel car kicking in. I would recomment the JWT by all means.
