Well, I guess you can only be lucky so many times before it bites you in the A$$... I will have a story of what happened on my homepage soon. Also there are a few more PICS there if you really want to see more of this pile of twisted metal:

Yes, I was in that....

But you know what, somehow I walked away from it. Someone was looking out for me.

It honestly looks like Godzilla had your car in his mouth and bit half of it off. But seriously, I'm glad you're alright man, that's really all that matters! Your car is a replaceable item and lives are not so, yes, consider yourself lucky.

Thanks for the Concern Guys... If you want all the Pics email me

I only suffered some scratches to my right hand where I threw it up in front of my face to try and shield my face from the glass when it exploded. I was sore the next couple of days, but was fine after that. There were no passengers in my car. If there had been I would have definitely had to changed the way me and the truck hit, but the way it happened was actually the best possible way for both me and the other driver. When I finish with the story I will let everyone know.

That most have been so scary dude,

I still can't believe you are all right from that. From now on if I find my self begining to drive like a idiot I will remember your story and think twise{maybe 3 times} about doing it.

What did the ***hole Mustang driver do? Did he stop or just keep on driving like a idiot? It's a good thing you did not get the UPRD ecu yet because it probably would have made the impact even harder/faster. Make sure you let us know what you are going to do about buying another car and all. Judging by how well you did in such a serios accident with your maxima I would think you would only drive a maxima after this. Atleast it's a good excuse to get another one hehe. Later bro.

Just got my insurance check!!!!!

Hmmm... Makes me feel a little better. I got $13,541 after my $1,000 deductible. Depreciation sucks, but I would have never got that if I tried to sell me car.

As for the Mustang, he was far enough behind me to slam on his breaks and slide to the side of the road just missing the truck after I hit it. After this he paused, I am sure he saw my car was still flipping and saw it was destroyed so he high tailed it out of there (I am sure he thinks I am dead). I hope he learned a lessen from it too.

After my brush with the darkness on 2/6 I know how you feel. It really hurts when you hit what felt like a 36" thick steel wall. I just wanted to let you know how happy I feel after seeing that pic of your car and knowing you walked away. You are indeed very lucky.

ikes

my 96 se was totalled last nov in a head on collision at 50mph, I also walked out fine, I didn't even have a scratch or a bruise. After my accident I always tell everyone how safe of a car they are, and as I read more and more "totalled" stories, I believe it more.

Although if you do die in a maxima you can't really post a message on this board about it so .... , but overall how my car performed I was so proud of it, but I know just how you feel. I kept on saying oh my car and the paramedic was like its just a car dont worry.... Anyways, what did you tell the insurance company????? Did you tell them the whole truth???? racing and everything????

I read the story, so you just hit the toyota 4x4? or did you get thrown into a truck too after that hit...... Also, I assume u were knocked unconscious??? if so how long, it looks like they used the jaws of life on that car, did they??

wow...

my god. someone was definitely on your shoulder... thank god you are ok and i applaud you for trying to tell people of the consequences of street racing. i too try to follow the no racing rule, but it is a bug we all share. nobody on this board can say that they don't get it every so often when they are getting tailgaited or when someone without any sense rolls up to you. we are just human, and not to sound stupid, but its natural to face aggression with aggresion, its one of our basic responses adapted to modern times, and unfortunately it can be deadly. i am honestly glad that you are ok, and may this be a reminder for everyone else when that ignoramus in the mustang tailgates them, because that mustang can have their name on it.

just a few things, how is the girl doing, and how the hell is she not suing?? did the mustang get caught for leaving the crime scene? and how the hell did you get 13,541 for your 96 max after you were involved in an accident due to street racing, did you feed a story to insurance and the cops?

jules

ps good luck with a new car! get another max, this is about the 15 horrible crash story that i have heard involving a max where the driver has walked away, or atleast walked after awhile.

Man, I am glad to hear that you came out of that accident so well. . . I would be thanking my lucky stars as you don't get chances like that everyday. . . I am amazed at how well the car looks after reading the story. . . Aren't the 95/96 Max's supposed to be the worse as far as crash tests go? If we are complaining about how they will hold up in a crash, then I would love to see what everyone else thinks is safe.

my accident

I'm glad you are okee dude. I also got in a pretty bad accident, i lost control of my van and rolled 2 times down a steep hill and into a tree. I walked away, or i should say crawled away out of the broken window, only suffering cuts to my hand when i tried getting outta of the car window, i paniced because I thought it would explode like in the movies. hehe

here are the pics

Well, the girl is not suing because it has been declared 50/50

or close to it. I told the insurance company exactly what happened. I got tailgated and I speed up to make some distance, then I merged over to allow the Mustang to pass me in the slow lane, because he wasn't going to come around me in the fast lane, and right as I did this the truck pulled out. Witnesses behind her said they saw me racing, but then they said she didn't have a clear line of view, which makes their story not very credible. As for the girl, if she looked she could have seen me coming easy, because I was almost on top of her as it was. I think she was talking on her cell phone. My insurance said I have as much of a reason to sue her as she does to sue me. It is not like she almost made it across the road, she just stuck her nose out. Either way my insurance covers it. I will get this expunged from my record within the next year.

I was awake during the hole accident. And got out of my car as soon as it came to a halt. As for the Maxima being safe: If anyone had been with me and I had recked exactly the same way, they would have been dead on impact.

wow part 2..

that is good. once again thank god you are ok. thats something else to think about, could this have been avoided if she wasn't on a cell? i pride myself on being a pretty good driver, but man when i m on a cell it seems i'm a 17 year old who just got my license again. senses are all messed up when i am talking and driving, and a hands free set doesn't help that much...keep this in mind people. this morning dropping my girlfriend off at work some guy in a huge boat of a car was on a cell and just rolled to almost the middle of the ******* street. thank god it was two lanes and i had teh chance to shift to teh left lane. i looked in my rearview, and the guy in back of me almost hit this boat, while the boat was trying to reverse back into the street he was coming from. i guess he noticed how far he had gone adn was trying to correct it. it could have been ugly if there was someone next to me, or next to the guy in back of me because of that boat car.

be safe everyone...

ohh....btw any ideas for anew car yet?

I'm not saying that you would have survived if the car would have hit differently, I don't think most car would have allowed the driver to survive if it was a dead center impact, but you said that the car flipped 3 times and landed on its nose , while it flipped in the air the landing still would have been pretty forceful, and you still only had scratches. There are supposedly problems with the wheels entering the cockpit and while the driver side took the least of the blow in comparison, it still got some of it. I am still glad you are ok, you got really lucky and I know it will leave lasting images in my mind.

Is this what you are talking about?????

This is a pic of my passenger seat with the wheel almost in it, and the seat is crumpled and bent.
