Do you guys think $200 to $250 is a good price for a custom 2.5in catback?
SubscribeI called a known local shop and this is what they quoted me until they see the car in person. The guy I spoke to was really helpful so I may give them the job but I wan't to know what you guys are paying in your area for a custom exhaust.
sounds crush bent.....? if that's what you want, it's an ok price...
Save your money and get the 2k+ muffler and have them cut out the nasty crush pipe behind the resonator. That's all you need if you're staying NA. Believe me, I've tried tons of different exhaust systems over the years.

with VERY good quality muffler and resonator, a local place charges about $750Cdn for a catback.
however this is the best sounding n/a catback i've ever heard.

Yeah, our NA motors really don't need anything more than that.Originally posted by deezo

2.5" exhaust helps the 5th gear synchros breathe better and increases fluid flow....if you have a 6 speed 3" is a must, God forbid a CVT car!!!

Who are you using... Lou's Custom?? I would just cut out the stock resonator, and flat spots. Depending if you have a y-pipe or not, and what type of muffler you choose, I would put a 2.5" resonator back in. But leave the 2.25 from the fixed section, up to the muffler, it would be a shame to throw away stainless steel for no hp increase. If you have any questions ask, I used to work at an exhaust shop in the Boston area, so I have tried a few set-ups.Originally posted by deezo

Get the budget 2.5in b-pipe its cheaper then there y-pipe which was 160. and then get a muffler of your choice put on that should run about $200 give or take for the parts.Originally posted by maxstyle98

Yes, Lou's. Maybe modifying what I already have is a better idea.Originally posted by maxstyle98

i guess he's applying the knowledge of the pop charger for a 5spd vs cai for auto. probably saying that the larger piping might yield a noticeable low end loss more in an auto than a 5spd?Originally posted by blubyu2k2
