A/C smells bad

A/C smells bad
When I first turn on my A/C it smells awful. I tried spraying lysol in the A/C intake by the wipers. That worked for a week or so. My Haynes manual says to spray an automotive disinfectant in the evaporator somehow but the picture nor description is very good on the location to spray it in. Besides I can't find the disinfectant. Any guidance?

i had the same problem. easily fixable. before you turn your car off, BE SURE to turn the AC button off and blow straight air through the vents for about a minute. i was told to do this by nissan. it gets all the crap out of the vent system. no more smell either. do it every time you have your air on! hope this helps.
