brake pads for the maxima

brake pads for the maxima

what kind of rear brake pads would someone recommend for me..?i dont race but i kinda drive agressively most of the time.mine is already 20% the last time i had an oil change and im planning to replace it soon.and another thing,anybody got a write up on replacing rear brake pads?i dont really feel like gettin jacked by midas.any comments is appreciated.

Rear pads r the same as the front?? So If I was to go and buy 2 sets of hawk pads(front). I could install them with no problems on all 4 corners??

I have some stock OEM Nissan rear pads f/s.. Lemme know if your interested....

Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads for the front and OEM for the rear.

no.. he means they're the same as far as the install goes.

but I thought you guys had to turn the piston back in because of the parking brake, like on the 3rd gen also? don't remember for sure....

In the rear he'll need to twist them back in.

He has to turn the pistons back in the rear(a piston tool helps a lot)...but other than that, the install is similar to the front.

I have EBC Greenstuff in the front. If you do aggressive driving, you'll like these. They're like other high performance brake pads except they have a much better initial bite.
Oh, and they are supposed to dust a lot less than other high performance pads but I can't vouch for that because mine dust like a *&%$%#^(#&$#^.

cool.what have u guys heard about raybestos?or porterfields?anybody has a write up on the installation?i wanna know this turning the piston issue.

I have the Raybestos on the rear. I like them & will probably get them again. From what I hear, they're basically OEM replacements, not performance pads.

For install write-up, click here for motorvate's web site. It's three pages - reassembly is the third page. For the rear piston, everywhere you see "c-clamp", replace it with "piston turning tool". Go to your local auto parts store & by one for about $5 bucks, push & turn at the same time, & you're good.
