I hate parking lots !!!
I swear it seems the further away I park at a store etc. the more things happened. I picked up my 2k2 last week, flawless and today was at the store and some lady opened her door into my pass side while I was in the car...the worst thing about this is I parked like 200 ft away from the store in an area with no cars and she decided she just had to park next to me...not a big mark left but the fact that she did it just p!ssed me off...why can't people be more focken careful...

I hear ya...had the same thing happen to me when I would go to the local rec center for swim practice. Would take my dad's car and park it in a corner, furthest away from the door, in a relatively empty parking lot. Needless to say, some soccer mom parked her Town&Country next to me, out of 200 other open, closer spaces.
I loogied on her window...gimme a break, i was in high school.
Of course when I decided to start parking closer, some kid's parked Quest/Villager minivan rolled into my dad's car.

I always park far away from anyone else. The ONE time I have to park close to run in and get contacts, some POS pulls right beside me and opens their door into my car. Not just a ding, it's a F*cking Dent with paint transfer. I didn't notice it till I got home so it was too late.

sorry to hear about that.
I usaully take 2 spots in the furthest part of the lot away from everyone else.
Once in awhile some jagoff parks on top of you........ it just happens.... they must be jealous

Yeah .. I feel you .. I don't know how many times I had that. Some people are just too lazy or don't give a *** about others. I know stuffs like this are gonna happen no matter what you do, but I always try to keep my car at the safe place.
One time I was at a convenience store. Some middle aged lady with a POS pulled up to my passenger side less than 2 ft away and opened the damn door .. bam .. another paint chip on the side. I was still sitting there. There were just my car and hers in that area and she managed to do that. WTF was she thinking ... I was 40 yards away from that store!!!

People who put door dings in cars are the same ones who drive slow in the passing lane causing traffic to pile up behind them. They don't give a crap about anyone else and only think a car is to get from point A to point B, why should anyone care what it looks like

park far away, park up close---my max is still a magnet
2 of hte hit and runs happened in hte front right, SAME COLOR CAR TOOOO(RED- red on wihte looks pink ) and another hit and run that left a super HUGE dent in my rear passenger door. LOTS of shopping cart dings too.

here's my technique, i always try to find the last spot close or far(where it's beside the curb or beside those yellow no parking lines) that way u have reduced your chances in half for a door ding. Then i also try to get the highest point in the parking lot that way i know the carts won come and hit me(unless there are some self propelling carts that i dont know off). Also try to park next to four door cars, in general their doors are shorter(so less reach).
This is pretty much common sense but those are my parking tricks,so far i've been lucky "*"knock on wood"*"

also be sure to keep a camera in your car. if someone dings/smacks your car, pull out the camera. take pics of the dent, their door (most likely it'll be beat up already), the two cars next to each other, the liscense plate on the car, and note the date and time.
confront the ******* when they come out, and make them pay to fix the dent. doesn't matter how large or small- they should pay to fix it. if they don't come out before you have to leave, leave a nice note on their windshield saying you knew they hit your car and will be contacting the police to file small claims damages on the car.
