Max Was Stolen, Need Your Help

So about 3 weeks ago my car was stolen, I found it three days later; the interior was strip, only thing left was the carpet. Door panels were gone, seats, sound system, etc. The insurance company totalled the car. They offered me $1,800 minus the $500 deductible, so I would only receive $1,400. I declined their offer. So today, I was browsing the net and looking up dealers that had a similar car, 1989 Nissan Maxima Se, 150,000 miles, the cheapest one went for $1,900 and a similar one to mine was $3,000. This prices does not reflect the $900 sound system I had in her.

How should go about talking to the insurance company? How can I get them to give more? I would be satisfied with $2,000-$2,500, after dedectible.

All comments are welcome, Thanks

hey bro, i was in your same boat except my car was hit but another person and they were totally at fault. In my case they were heavily obliged to make me happy due to the other person causing my misfortune. I'm not sure how your sound system would fit into the theft scenario but i believe u may have to show proof that u had it in there through receipts and such and more importantly i think they would have to be seen as items protected by theft. If they are and u have receipts u should get most of the money for your audio that is missing.

best of luck man...who is your insurance company?

I have Middlesex Insurance Company. The funny thing is that I sent the adjuster all the receipts for the sound system and maintanance stuff. In all, the receipts totaled $2,500. I feel they are low-balling me. I just would like for them to be fair. But that's almost impossible. I will call the adjuster today and let her know of my research.
