question about lower control arm

hey

i was just wondering if anyone ever had a lower control arm go out on them.

please tell me what it was like.

were there any wierd noises???
and vibration anywhere?????
where did the noises if any occur???

thanks for the help.

i have a mestrious noise i have been trying to find for the past two weeks.

wierd whirling and clunching while making a left turn w/throttle.

or when i have a passenger riding shot gun i get the same noise while going straight.

in both cases i have to have throttle.

front right lower control arm bushing was completely gone on my car. the steering wheel was crooked like it needed a mad alignment, pulled super hard to the right, accellerating it would go straight but when i wwent to shift it would jet right almost off the road unless i correctedd immediatly. bad rattling over bumps too.

If you sure your noise is from down low, check your ball joint and FSB end link jt for free play. Your axle cv joints may also be worn even with no tear in the boot.

Well, I just found the source of my noise that's been bothering me for the last 6 months! It turns out my y-pipe is hitting something that looks like a shield that's right behind the rear motor mount and extends below the front sway bar. I can clearly see the scratch/scuff marks on the shield and the FSB. However, I don't know if the y-pipe is moving so much because of a bad rear motor mount even though I just filled it with urethane or because of a loose suspension component.

Good luck!

It's right where the crossmember is bolted in if you're looking towards the rear of the car. You'll see the rear motor mount right there bolted on the crossmember. Then if you look to the left of the mount you'll see the shield we're talking about. ****ing 99.5s everything is so cluttered up in there.

Good luck!

But the thing that worries me is that the engine shouldn't be moving THAT much, because if you really look in there it's a LOT of room between the shield and the pipe. I can't really bend the shield because it's right below the FSB and that's where the contact is in my case. Unless you can suggest a way.

Thanks.
