Safety Inspection w/ gen II Altezzas

Hey Guys,

I just went to a inspection station today and they said that my gen II altezzas will not pass. I was wondering if there is anyone else on the board that has had this happen to them. Thanks.

Uhh those lights are SAE and DOT approved so there should be no reason at all why you wouldn't pass.

those lights are DOT compliant, they should pass and should come with or maybe you could find some documentation...

Off the procarparts website concerning the genII Altezza's for the Maxima (they are for the carbon-fiber look ones but should still apply to the ones you have):

SAE/DOT STREET LEGAL! MEETS ALL FMVSS 108 REQUIREMENTS
Maybe you could ask them for some documentation if you still are having problems...

Check the bottom of the tail lights. It should say SAE and DOT approved,

Thanks guys,

I thought they were within regulation. Hmm... I think the guy was not a fan of import *Ricers* jP. He looked at my car and said,"What year is that *thing*" I"m taking it to another inspection station tomorrow.

you're supposed to change those corner lights to red or take them out. white light in the back is a no-no

I just got my car inspected. I have a 2000 with 2k2 OEM HIDs. The guy said he'll put the sticker on but the "blue lights" are illegal. I tell him those are factory stock. He goes on, well, they're illegal and another place might not pass you .. blah blah... you might have to change them out... blah blah... VA sucks! Could you believe that? Change out OEM HIDs for non HIDs? Whatever, idiots... I don't think they even put the car on the lift to check other things... they supposedly finished the inspection in 10 min... I doubt they check anything except for lights... and of course, the lens says DOT ... but it's the bulb bluish tint when they first turn on
