The truth about Pace Setter Mufflers!

I bought this Pace Setter Muffler on 3-30-01 and put it on my car at 55,000 miles I took it off yesterday 9-6-03 at 80,000 miles and went back to stock. This muffler completely rusted through! It sounded good but it rusted away easily.

No, I don't think Pacesetter claims stainless steel construction. I think they're all mild steel. That's why they are so cheap.
It's been said before on the board that it's just good for people who want power on a budget, since they are under $200, iirc. It's not for people who want longevity, but then again, you can afford to buy a couple Pacesetters for the price of some SS exhausts.

I'm sure the weather and road conditions and rice were also a factor.

For $39, you can't expect that much I suppose.
