Video: HlH runs 12.7 + 119mph on stock tires.

~10psi, running rich (under 10:1 a/f), playing it safe

as usual, all season 215's - love the daytons! I do not even know if HR is rated for 119mph?

oh and does dew covering the whole car and humidity printed on my slip of 100% mean anything? ha

VIDEO LINK (1.2mb)

Awesome!! Why didn't you drive it to the track though? Exhaust too loud?

I trailored it because the track was a couple hours from home. Also it is kind of hard(impossible) to fit a giant grill, coolers and loads of tools in the maxima here is my "pit" haha, I had hotdogs and drinks for the nissan guys so it was fun

The car I am racing in the video was a supposed turbo civic. All I know is he had a real front mount and ran terrible times. So maybe nothing was hooked to his fmic?

Great run, I run that fast in my car too, NOT, in my dreams I do.

He didn't drive it to the track because he wanted us to see his bad a$$ H2. I bet that poor guy he was racing was like WTF!!!
It seems like once he get 3rd gear it's good night whatever he is racing.

I saved all of Hal's races.

what fart can? I guess you don't like the pure sound of a turbo V6 - downpipe only.

Geez.

Want to know something funny. I went out to the local hangout tonight for the first time since spring because I was bored. Alot of the people there had seen my car at the track etc and wanted to know how I ran the times I do. We got talking about Maximas and I brought up your car. They asked what you run and I said I bet he's good for mid 12s @ 119mph on street tires. My prediction = perfect

130mph

You've got plenty of speed left in the tires. It should be your goal to exceed the speed rating of the tires in the 1/4.

So they can blow up right when he crosses the traps...that would be ugly. I wonder if street tires have a built in safety range in them...

i think the safety range is like 18-20% so like 154mph but you would never want to go that fast on them? then again maybe i'm wrong who knows

Not that this is on topic or anything but tire speed ratings are based on the heat generated at X speed for Y amount of time. H rated tires are rated at 130mph for whatever that amount of time is. It's either 30 minutes or 1 hour I forget which. A quick blast up to 150 won't hurt an H rated tire unless the tire already has a problem.

no money for them right now... some day, hopefully soon - plus it will be nice to be able to spray 1st and 2nd gear too!

and as for what turbo: i'm still on the original t3/t4, wishing I could afford to change to something crazy - but that's not for a while.

mzmtg: woo i have a new goal

Awesome run, I envy your max. Nice H2 also, any plans for a Supercharger on that? Was the reactions in the sidelines from random people about how fast your car is?

actually there was some funny conversations taking place.

Before my first run: I never burn out or anything, just creep up to the line and go. A redneck in the stands calls me a stupid ricer as he sees my HID's and hears my exhaust wind up as I prepare to launch against a loud 5.0 mustang. My friend in the stands tells him, "oh really? he'll smoke that 'muscle car'" and the guy just argues with him and stuff haha.. I proceded to smoke the 5.0. The guy shutup. there were a few other funny things but mainly just the usual people comin up to me asking if its the 4cylinder or 6cylinder maxima, etc...

VIDEO AGAINST MUSTANG 5.0 (0.5mb) That will give you an idea how loud my exhaust is....

Bijan: my BOV is set VERY quiet... you can hardly hear it - but it vents perfectly.

are you using stock injectors?

stock motor?

for those trap speeds I know your dynoing well over 320HP and a they cant handle over 320HP after 6K with a MEVI.

States in his sig (and the last dyno vid) that hes got 456whp and 460lb-ft of torque, not to mention he let off be4 reaching redline (with 35shot nitrous) so im sure hes packin well over 500hp at the crank. As for the injectors But it should be the stock motor.

hlh0501,
Good runs. Trap speed is very impressive. The Dayton HR4's are what I run, too (225/55/16). Impressive tires. Excellent traction (wet or dry), and mine have held up very well. Mine have over 26,000 miles on them that I've put on them. I have looked around a little for them locally, but haven't found them anywhere yet. If I can find them for a good price, I'd definitely buy them again. Speed rating is 130 like mzmtg said.
Nealoc187 is right about speed ratings. They are rated for sustained speeds. Running 1/4's won't heat them up near enough for them to fail, unless something is already wrong with them.

jay: first of all a side note, your car looks sweet! saw it in the atl vids. to answer your questions, yes stock motor and stock injectors (240's?). I am controlling fuel delivery pretty much from a vortech FMU - so high fuel pressure. I dont even have a safc on the car right now I do start leaning out a little over 6000 I noticed on the dyno. off the charts rich (below 10:1) up to 6000 then it climbs to almost 14:1 I believe by fuel cut. So, on the track I shift at ~6000rpm until 4th gear I have to wind it all the way out bc I dont want to have to shift into 5th before the finish line.

dave: the funny thing about these tires... i used to just put the cheapest tires i could get on my stock wheels, bc whenever i had them on my car it was just constant spinning, i mean merging on the interstate at 65 if i gunned it i'd usually spin my junk 15" tires. I went in and requested the econo-special, the cheapest tire they had - to put on my 15's. I got the daytons for 65$ each mounted balanced everything. 400 tread rating. the things have lasted FOREVER and I run 2.1 60' every single time on them (unless i want to tear on my clutch then i get 2.0 but its not worth it)
