need help setting up kumho ecsta supra!

with 235/45/17 ecsta tires, what is your recommended torque setting for each lug? since my max mostly runs on smooth roads and 70% on hwy, what is your recommended psi setting for my tires?

Call a certified reputable tire shop for your torque specs. I run my Yokohama 235/40/18's at 31 psi all around. no complaints yet.

pardon me for being lazy searchin at 3am in the morning, i did a 30 minutes search and came up with a decent conclusion of my own. correct me if the following information aren't right:

1. Tire Pressure
according to http://maxmods.dyndns.org/index.php?TirePressure again, stock 16s recommended tire pressure from the manufacture is 33psi. since my tires are 17s, i should be running 34psi for standard. in addition, the 235/45/17's maximum tire pressure is 44psi. (just for side reminder)

2. lug torque setting
according to http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/torque.htm, i think it gives a very detail torque spec as well as lug tightenin patterns.

3. tire rotation
i will definetly rotate my tires ever 5,000mi according to this pattern.

note: i will make my front tire 34psi, and the back 36psi. i need more grip for the front tires at cornering, and the back tires will provide me better gas milage. 2 tires are 80% tred left, 2 tires are only 20% tred left. 80% will go to the front, 20% will go to the back. after 5,000 more mi, i will pick up 2 more ecsta supra 235/45/ZR17 tires from tirerack for $87 a piece

Its gonna be a PITA to do that rotation plan if your tires are directional because you'll have to do some dismounting of tire from wheel so you still have the proper direction of travel on your tires... I go front to rear every 3,000 miles, only cuz im too lazy to have the tires dismounted and cross rotated since they are directional.

If your tires are not directional then ignore all the babbling I just did, like you said, it is 3am.

kevin u have to rotate directly front to back on those tires u can't do the cross pattern because ur tires tread will be going in the wrong direction, you ARE running directiona tires

torque should be 72-87 lb/ft, according to FSM

Email luke@tirerack for suggestion psi. Tell him what rims (dimensions) and tires (size) you're using and he'll recommend something to start with. Then start tweaking from there.

Tires are for grip, lowering, RSB, RSTB, FSTB are for handling...

If you just put the stickiest tires on a stock 4th or 5th Gen, you'll still get body roll and understeer...

sorry, I'll rephrase. Tires are excellent for conducting non-straightline driving.

About understeer, maybe u can help me out: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=247715

Body roll's only a problem in transitions...other than that, I have no problems w/my stock height car (except in the looks dept, but who cares for rice?) and oem struts.

actually i can turn harder at corners cuz the tires stick to the ground very well, the width increased also helped. so indirectly i guess it does help handling cuz it improved.
