A lotta ya are writing me about my strobes, and that's totally cool i love to help out. But to help you all, like those who are thinkin about real strobes and haven't written, here's some more info (taken from an e-mail I just sent to a fellow Maxima.org member)

stay cool everyone,

*******CHECK YOUR LOCAL LAWS AND OBEY THEM*******

They are 60W - 6head hi-power strobes (Nova). They are a police set. The state cops use identical setups (some Nova / some Whelen, some 60W / some 90W, some clear / some blue, but same setup.)

I am thinking of upgrading to 90W, but the 60s sure kick ***.

I have four clear heads (one at each corner of vehicle) and can add two more with this power supply if I want. Cost is about $300 or so, with cabling and a good switch.

Yes, it was quite a bit of work to install them (all day project), but really worth it. They make the other strobes look like such a joke. If you want to see some pics/movies here are some links:

^-- picture of the switch, installed under climate control in the little pocket

^--- top view of bulb installed in headlamp

http://www.citrano.com/Car/pix/strobes_night.mov
^---movie of strobes operating (2 meg file)

Hope this helps.

I've seen Acitrano's car(Wow!) and strobes and those strobes are no joke. They look exactly like the ones that flagged my friend and I down on Friday night... LOL

Do you have a part # where you got the strobs at? I'm interested in getting those and also i heard a lot about that valentine radar. Do the Valentine 1 work really good as in will it alert cops when they have their radar gun off? Its prohibited in CA, and i plan on getting on stashed in my dash.. thanks

PS everything is pretty much illegal in CA

Ummm best place to find a good strobe set like mine is to go to:

http://www.strobesnmore.com and tell Louis you got the link off Maxima.org. Look under "complete strobe systems." Mine's a SuperPak 606. He's got the whole package for sale right now for $199. If anyone wants to wait until Spring, I'm thinking of upgrading to 90W and would be looking to sell my 606 power supply (you'd be on your own for cables and bulbs and switch.)

As for V1, they aren't illegal in CA. Radar detectors are legal in CA. And no, the V1 is a radar/laser locator, not a cop locator.

Looks like it's probably about the same thing -- but I'd be more inclined to buy from Louis (www.strobesnmore.com) because I know the quality of his stuff and several friends have bought from him (two of them cops) so... give him a shot http://www.strobesnmore.com -- tell him you got the link here.
