New D2R HID bulbs 8500k w/ Pics!!

Hey guys, I wanted to share my latest mod with you. I dont know about you but I never get tired of checking out HID pics. Anyway on my old car I had Philips Ultinon Capsules 6000k and they were great! I went with a bit more color this time. Problem was it might have been too much color. 8500k is hella purple!!! I wasn't expecting this much color. I can tell my light output died down a little but it really gets you noticed. Please let me know what you think. Keep the flames short, I understand this color isn't for everyone but hey I like it for the time being. I should add im using PIAA twin bulb LED parking light bulbs.

During the day in my garage. WELL after warmup!

Me vs TL-S

Night!

Me vs. TL-S w/ Stock 4200k HID

I should note that all these pics were taken well after warmup, infact some of them the car had been running for hours.

hmmm, how long does it take to warm up and how much did this kit cost? who did u get it from? i was looking for purple (i'm in love BTW) and coudlnt find it so was gonna settle for white or very light tint blue but if the brand u have is very reputable and not TOO expensive, i may get it.

Now how much lumens did you lose on those 8500k bulbs? I mean how much less of the road can you see since it cant be putting out the same amount of light.

I'd say I lost about 500 or more lumens using these bulbs. The light still shines just as far its just that the color of the light on the road makes everything harder to see. Its an ok trade off but I still think they are a bit too colorful. Anyhow I bought the bulbs for $200 shipped to my door. Go to Proxenon.com. Look under accessories, they show only 8000k and 12000k at the moment but I think you can call them and ask for the 8500k.

with those bulbs, I can see why some people are fighting the have HIDs taken off of vehicles. They look good, but I bet you upset quite a many people in oncoming lanes at night..

FWIW, they do look awesome though

I saw your post on hidforums.com. Good luck with those bulbs but you will probably end up going back to 4500K. The light to the wrong blows everything else out of the water.

I like the TL lights better. I had 8000K and the only time I liked them were when the road were totally covered in snow. I've gone back to stock and really like the light output.
