Another bad RT Cat experience...

Tonight I was driving along the highway and I thought I kept hearing a scraping noise. My first thought was it couldn't be my exhaust, because I just put in a new cat and cat-back a few months ago. Sure enough, I pulled over and found the heat shield dragging on the ground. As I went to pull into a parking lot, it was nice enough to come fully off so I wouldn't have to get it off. Anyone else have this problem with RT cats? Also, how important is it to have that on there? It seems to work fine without it. ...sure is rusty though. My original looked better with 80k on it and this one has only been on the car for like 6k miles!

My stock cat was put back on last Saturday and I am very happy. I should have never wasted money on the RT cat.

well, that gave me a good idea how bad RT cats suck....can anyone tell me if that heat shield is important? The reason I changed my cat is because my original went bad, so I son't have it anymore.

The heat shield from my original cat cat just fell off one day and it didn't change anything. RT is just a rebadged costco cat and that's why I got a Carsound, + 30 miles on first fill-up...

I'm here to say that CARSOUND is a pile of ****(ones from warpspeed at least). The thing busted on me after 2.5 weeks, inner core got separated from the body and all I hear is the thing bangin loud as hell. No response, no refund, no ****ing business for warpspeed...

Wow, I was thinking about getting a Carsound from Warpseed also. Thanks for the heads-up.

until it craps out on you. I did notice a bit of power gain with the carsound in the mid-range. Now with the stock one the power gap is there again...
