Yea SI's are basically good for one thing: being a donor car. There's an over 250 lb. difference between the SI and the bottom of the line DX coupe. Just swap in the B16, and you have a potential beast.

I beg to differ...I see what you are saying, but if you know what to do with them the weight difference makes no real difference..there are plenty b16a2 eks on HT.com easily running 12's with moderate boost turbo setups. of course stuffing the A2 into an 5th gen+ HB would make more sense cause of the wieght reduction but don't count the ek chasis out and label it a "donor car"

All I'm saying is if I were to ever go the civic route (which I won't), I would just buy the DX (or HB) for cheap, swap, and build from there. BTW, the DX and SI share the same chassis so what do you mean?? Given equal HP and equal drivers, the lighter car will win, especially when you're dealing with over 200 lbs. weight differential. Any car can be made quick, there's no denying that.

Looks to me like a B16A swap into a hatch, there is no way that can possibly be an SiR (Si for you guys in the States)... That car with the wimpy 106hp engine would pose no threat to the max in stock form unless heavily modified... Only the newest hatch has the SiR engine (Si in States) and btw, it's ugly like a mother... On the other hand, the B16A can be a monster if done right, i learned the hard way when i ran into a turbo 1.6, beat in a really short stoplight to stoplight, but when we got another roll going, i got the jump and it was all downhill from there... for me that is...

You're right in one respect with the H22A swap,...yes they will get a much better 1/4 time. But god forbid they attempt an auto-x or any other kind of race in which they must TURN. The H22a swap puts so much weight in the front the cars will not turn with out major suspention mods. But on the other hand the H22A is also a good candidate too make some major power with F/I. There's 2 kids around here running Boosted H-series motors, one is a prelude H22A VTEC w/a jackson SC and High boost pulley, and some other internal mods,He runs 12-13's. The other kid has an H23A non-vtec in a $hit-vic w/a custom turbo and the rest of the goodies and hes in the low 12's.

Did, u guys even watch that video, obviously it was not an 01 Civic SI, the video even showed that the matchup was "97 Maxima SE VS 03 Honda Civic HB" Let's forgive our fellow maxima members for their typos...Hey BTW good job on stomping that civic! Civic's = Maxima's = It's always nice to see a real import beat the poor overrated Rice!

Haha, I had a good expierence with a 95 Civic EX with a b16 swap. We lined up at a red light, and the street ahead was uphill, so the first 0-60 was uphill. This was when I still had my intake on, I turn my TCS off and WOT!! All of a sudden I see the guy about 1 and a half two cars back. Geuss what happend next light. We got lined up again, The guy was making complaints that he missed a gear so I said fine, This time I only beat him by about a car. Then the guy said to me I must be doing something right? haha

But anyways nice kill!!!
