You had to take your clear corner off to change the oil !?!? J/K

Have you been running synthetic the whole time, or did you just switch? I was under the impression that it is not a great idea to switch to synthetic if you have not been using it from the start?

i have heard the rumors as well but i still did it and this is my SECOND synthetic oil change so i have already went past 6k miles with synthetic. I have 140k miles on my car so i used thicker blend just in case (10W30). No problems, no leakage, i guess i'm just lucky.

oh and PhxBlue, i'll be able to die as a complete person when i can change my own fuel filter and knock sensor. With these big **** hands i dont think it will ever be possible .

I know this has been beat to death but how did you get your B-pipe not to sag? Mine hangs down pretty far even after I had a muffler shop add another hanger point. Also it's hitting the suspension beam when I hit a bump. Little help please.

yea it has been beat to death

upon install at meineke they seen the problem forehand and asked for my approval to heat up a part of the pipe so it get a little soft and moveable. I agreed and thats what they did. they heated up a part of the piping nad aggressively pushed the piping upwards. Was scared at first but it worked and havent had any problems although there's a very VERY small possibility that it could have affected my time? doubt it though.

1. Your RSB mounts arent installed in the same place on each side.

2. Please please please invest in some Jack stands

Good job though!!! For alot of people, an Oil change is the beginning of them doing all their own work.

see, i installed my RSB by myself and i messed up, they arent even. Ga dammit i'm gonna have to go back and fix that

those "fins" are splitters, like some japanese kit or something, came with car...everyone tells me to take it off but it makes my car look different so i kept it on...plus it protects my bumper from scratching...one day they'll come off.

Good job on the oil change now just adjust that RSB and you should be good to go. Oh and btw I managed to change my fuel filter and knock sensor and I have huge hands so I think you can do it too.

I was gonna say to back off a bit about him being happy about the first work he's done himself being an oil change because he's young, but he's 22, so I don't feel as bad about the jeering. Also, a new oil filter and synthetic isn't exactly a mod(ification), more like routine work that shouldn't even be a thought, just an involuntary action, quite similar to breathing. Mecca, I'm not bustin on you, but you've got some ways to go...also, pick up some ramps, I think it speeds up the oil change process a bit.

Especially on what seems to be not-so-level ground! We don't want you perishing before producing the twin turbos.

Well, I'm 22 and pretty timid about DIY stuff. Some people are late bloomers, or never had pops/friends around to break them in on mechanical things, or weren't enthusiastic about doing such labor until a certain age, etc.

dam, how did i know the twin turbo gag would come in here

ahh, yea i know oil change isnt much of anything but 95% of everything done on my car has been done by someone else, from audio to lighting to maintentance...the only thing i ever installed on my car was my optima battery and switched my midpipe for my intake. This is the first step to being a DIYer. My pops doesnt fix cars or do his own maintenance and although a FEW of my friends are car enthusiasts, none of them do anything themselves, heck 90% of them dont even have a car. So i had a bad start but willing to learn even though things need to be explained to me 2 or 3 times.

One more reason why i was proud of this install was because of the time it took and the fact that i didnt mess up. Basically everything i ever install one way or another i F up. I killed a few amps because of my stupid installation skills and even killed a harness because i spiced too close to the bulb. This oil change is a beginning to no more fing upping .

Well when putting oil into containers i spilled a whole mess of it on my jeans . So i still messed this up but atleast i didnt hurt my precious .

Mecca, its cool, I understand where your coming from (then again I swapped trannies before I changed the oil on my car -and my dad doesnt really work on his car, he just takes it to the shop). Just make sure you take the time to do it right each time, mistakes happen when you take shortcuts or are rushed.
