A guage that detects speed through a source other than tranny?

Does anyone know of a product that can detect my speed which does not involve using the transmission sensor or any sort of mileage recording to the ECU or some other storage device? I want to mount a guage that will tell me my speed when my both my oem speedometer and odometer are not working.
Thanks

Not a "gauge" per se, but a GPS unit can do that with much better accuracy than your speedometer

so you plan to disconnect your gauge cluster and rack up more miles, then reconnect it and screw the next buyer??

that's a pretty s h i t t y thing to do and I can't believe anyone would help...

more like he wants to disconnect it from the ECU so the speed limiter won't kick in at ~120.

there's aftermarket speedos out there that you can do that with, but for the price of them it's easier to just buy an ECU that's got the speed limiter removed.

if you're right I'll say sorry, but if that's what he's looking for why didn't he ask how to remove the speed limiter on his car??

last night i kept hitting my limiter at ~190km/h which is really getting to me, seeing as most other maximas do not have this limiter. do you think swapping 5-speed se ecu would be a direct fix with no after effects (like a constant cel, etc)? Thanks

Hey I was searching for it in the past...however when I found it, he made reference to sprintmax saying that sprintmax used his writeup and included pics. however when i went to the sprintmax website, it was down....does anyone have a link as to where i can find the write up with pics? I really wanna do this mod and put a switch onto it...but once my speedo is down, I would like to still see how fast I am going. I was hoping that there was a 2 1/16" guage that could fit within my pod to let me know how fast I was going, that by passed the whole oem route.

jeez, why the hell do you need to go so fast? I think it's better off you keep that limiter.
