ideas for documentation re my maxima

I am looking for documentation for my '97 Maxima stating that it is equipped with an air bag.
I am fighting a seat belt ticket, which I have a decent chance of winning if I can prove that my car has an air bag. Unfortunately, I bought the car used a few years ago, so I don't have any of the original documentation from when the car was purchased new.

Any ideas where I can get some sort of proof that it's equipped with an air bag?

thanks

What does the fact that your car does or does not have an air bag have to do with your seat belt ticket?

If it's the law in your state, as it is here in NJ to have your seatbelt on, then your guilty if you weren't wearing it. Air bag or not!

SRS systems [i]require[/] you to wear your safty belt, there designed to work together. If you have an air bag and you weren't wearing your safty belt you're actually putting yourself at a greater risk of injury.

seatbelts save lives, I highly suggest you make a habbit of wearing them. That's why they made that law, the ticket is supposed to knock some sense into you so you will start wearing them.

Proof that it's equipped with an air bag???? Take a friggin' picture of the "pinche" steering wheel! Wot Da Flock??? I mean, are you saying that the car doesn't have one on it now?? I'm confused here and maybe you can shed some light on this one!

And as for fighting a seat belt ticket...

You will not get out of a ticket, wearing seatbelt is the law. It saves life. Regardless if you have air bags or not. Air bags are not intended in place of seatbelts. Air Bags are supplemental protection in event of frontal collision from facial injury. If you're not wearing a belt, the air bag may protect you from getting facial injury but you can be ejected out of the car through the windshield.

Someone mentioned the SRS system. Just so you are aware, I don't know if its on the 4th generation but on newer cars, THE AIRBIG WILL NOT DEPLOY IF YOU ARE NOT WEARING A SEATBELT!!!!!!!!! Come on buddy pay the ticket.
