HELP!New or used springs

Hey guys,

I have to replace my wifes shocks/springs. The KYB GR2's are on its way. When it comes to getting springs does it make a huge difference if go used or new?

I would like to pair these up with H&R's. The car has over 110,000 miles and I will be replacing all the rubber parts, new bearings and sleeves.

Any advice would be appriciated.

Thanks

Jr

If you have the money go for new ones, but used ones will be fine as long as they're not sagging. Make sure the old spring isolators are in good condition, just replace the ones that are ripped so you don't have any noise.

LOL. No it is not my 2k2 it is my wifes 99.

I am not sure if they are sagging. They have about 10,000 miles on them.

Maybe I should play it safe and purchase new ones.

Thanks for the replies.

Use the spiral wire loom from radio shack to isolate the top coils. Keeps them from making noise when they compress.

Imo it wouldn't matter if you went used or new. I mean if you have the extra cash, definitely go for the new ones..but springs are springs..they are made to last on a car for TONS of miles. Just make sure they are in proper shape and you should have no problem.

I'm to use this stuff, instead of, or addition to the polyurethane sleeve.

thanks
