Preserving a Engine!?
i crashed my 94 maxima gxe. the body is ****ed but the engine and transmission are in great shape since i just had the engine rebuilt before the crash and the transmission is only 2 years old.
i found another Maxima, a 90 gxe, that im going to buy for $1750. its got 175k miles on it and is in great shape and runs well. im going to probably use only the transmission i have to put in a abandoned maxima and see if i can sell it. but im still stuck with a great engine. i was thinking of just holding on to it and if/when the engine in the 1990 maxima goes, i could just throw it away and put in my engine.
whats the best way to preserve my engine so that i can one day make a swap? does this sound like a good idea, can i do this and have no problems when i do swap? will it be just as good?

put a teaspoon or so of oil (when I do it, I use marvel mystery oil) in every cylinder I guess.
I'd also tape off put a plastic bag over the throttle body, exhaust manifolds, and coolant lines to keep stuff from getting inside of them. Also just putting a plastic bag or something over the whole engine really helps for prolonged storage because of dust.

so, if i take the engine out. clean it real well with wd 40 or something. put some oil in the cylinders. put bags of the holes. and put the engine in a sealed bag, when i go to start it in a car, it should run as good as when i took it out? or better since i cleaned it?
