There might be a market for VLSDs from other models.
Quoting from Cattman in his Quaiffe group deal post:
It would seem that 3rd gen VE30DE SE, 4th gen Canadian SE and ES, 4th gen i30t, and 5th Gen AE share a common VLSD.
Quoting from Keven97SE on his successful 5spd transplant:
With the Quaiffe costing $1225 in a group buy and $1445 retail, maybe the cost of an OEM VLSD is forced down from it's current $1000+ price point...
let's hope...
btw if anyone with a 5 speed VLSD goes for the Quaiffe, let me know, as I might just help subsidize your cost

Yes, they have the LSDs, but these function much more effectively because they are all-gear. Might fit the VG series, but that won't be determined until we can actually try it out on someone who has their tranny apart anyway.

Well, the tranny code on the VLSD 5spd is something like R5F50V, whereas the open diff tranny is R5F50A.
I was *told* that any Maxima (or car) with a "Z" in the VIN# has a VLSD tranny.
