Really thick sway bar (or very little suspension travel) + nose-heavy car = that

Happens all the time at autocross, nothing to worry about... unless he was in the process of flipping.

I used to work for Saturn as a sales consultant and they send you to Spring Hill, TN for training and you get to go out on a track like that. I also managed to get and SC2 up on two wheels. Thought my last name was Duke for a while. Was a pretty good time ragging the **** out of someone else's brand new cars.

dam, i always and still wonder how a car can be in that position and the tires not pop. How can the tires take so much pressure and weight at such an angle...?

If there's enough tire pressure, you'd be ok. Friends of mine who autocross generally inflate to about 40lbs to as close to the max tire pressure.

I like all of the pics except the Saturn pic. I can't believe that car has a high center of gravity.

Yeah VW's and other boxy cars do that all the time.

I finally started lifting my rear inside wheel this past weekend. In 3 years of auto-x this is the first time I've every gotten the rear up like the first pic. Guess taking out the spare and front sway bar did change handling a bit.

The guy standing behind the Saturn seems to be oblivious.

I hope he doesn't have stock suspension, that is just dangerous!

Actually he is on stock suspension, and he does fairly well.

I autocrossed on stock suspension and stock tires! Yeah, 65-series tires on 15" rims are not good. But when you have good tires (Potenza RE950's), you can easily make a comeback. I can say that a stock 93 Max SE is faster around an auto-x track than all Porsche 914's (well, without any 3 liter motor swaps).

I don't think that even one of my wheels came off the ground when I was out for my 6 or 7 runs. Hoorah for for body roll!
