Best way to make a secure payment.

I want to buy something from a fellow .org member but he says he doesn't have a checking or paypal address. I'm skeptical about sending money at al.. What's the most secure way of finding out who cashed a money order? Is a western union money order pretty secure?

I'd say making sure your money goes where it is supposed to is fairly important, but with all these red flags, how can you be sure you're going to get the merchandise you've paid for?

I don't know who you are buying from here, but you have to be careful. I do not have a Pay Pay..nor do I give out any of my account info. Best thing to do is ask around the board to see if anyone else has delt with him and his reliability. There are a lot of people on the net who are not what they pretend to be.

If you are skeptical already, then don't buy it.

get a PayPal account - it is fast, easy, and free! Got to be the safest way out there.

of course, the seller will need an account too...but again, its free and no hassle - so no reason not to get one.

you don't have to give PayPal ANY bank or credit account info to join (and send/receive money).

plus, PayPal offers a rip-off guarentee...if you don't get your item they will give you your money back! nothing to lose.

also, check the feedback section of the forum - might give you an idea or the sellers history.
