What he is saying they make a controlled fire and burn down a perimiter so when the main fire get to it it will be extinguished. They tried it and had no success.

Yeh, I live in southern cali. My max and my crap in my room were going to be packed up real quick. Fortunately, yet unfortunately, the fire shifted to some other undeserving city.
