LED freaks, need some help...

Well I almost blew my harlan switch tonight, the mevi just quit working. So I go home and it just doesnt have power. Its plugged into the battery and all. So next I undo the new LED I installed in the gauge cluster today.I just unhooked it. Now I hot wire the LED to the battery and its not working anymore. But the harlan is. Wierd. So now I need to figure out what resistor(s) do I need. I had a 5v blue LED with a 1k resistor. Now that ones gone. I have a 3.7 one left that will go in next. What resistor do I need, and did I have the first setup wrong?

Wayne, I'll send you a few blue 1.7v 6000mcd LEDs with the proper resistors for running on 12v. You probably burnt out the one you have.

IM me your address next time I am online.

can u run a 12v led with no resister with no problem? I have a green led which is 12 v (says 7.5A on the box?) and i have it tapped to yellow wire of summit and tried hooking it up to hot spots on the fuses under steering wheel for power but none seem to work. I'm wondering if those fuse spots arent giving it enough power since its a 12v led? If thats the case i have to run it straight to the battery? What do u guys think? NO resister BTW

I would try testing the LED by using the battery...just connect the led's positive/neg to the terminals to see if it lights up...Post what happens and can you be more clear on where its connected right now?
