they just call it a maxima in europe

When I started off the transmission was set on economy mode and I noticed that acceleration was nothing short of dismal, so I set it to the sport mode.
why cant we have something like this?? Its almost like the "drop resistor mod"

yea, but thats the problem, drop resistors arent factory set. ive driven a few cars with "sport/normal" or "sport/economy" the way it worked on my old sc2 was sport mode was set gears (4 speed auto) but economy mode put an over drive on top of it, so the engine reved lower. stupid i know, but thats alllll it was. i dont think it would have nearly the effect of the drop resistor.

don't auto 3rd gens have that option in the US? i remember forever ago my friend's dad's max had it. (i think...)

Power and comfort? Yup, different shift points for the auto.
