Accident repair advice
Accident repair advice needed
Hi folks. I managed to bounce the front left quarter of my '98 GXE off a guardrail last weekend (snow + speed + tight turn = bounce).
The result was a nasty dent to the bumper and front right quarter panel, the parking light popped out and later fell out.
I've been quoted $1,044 (Canadian) for repairs by the local dealership (Walkley Nissan in Ottawa) which basically consists of replacement of all parts and repainting.
Some questions...
* Are there other services out there that can reshape my parts back into form for less $? Is it worthwhile investigating them? I gather there can be rust troubles in the future, but if it's a major price difference...
* Should I claim this on insurance? It's my first accident (ever) and I have a $300 deductible on collision.
Thanks for any advice.
Andrew

I would just suggest you filing a claim with your insurance. You pay it every year for incidents such as these. Mind you that it may raise your premium, but so will moving to a different area such as a metropolitan city. It's weather related. I'd pay 300 dollars than the 1044 anyday. Sorry to hear about your accident. Good Luck.
