It wasn't a direct head on collision, but well enough. The girl in the Accord didn't even brake. It was a mid 90's 4 door, 4cyl. accord. It was a 'peice. You know the WORST part? Her car is most likely not totalled. Although her air bags went off, she didn't sustain nearly the damage I did, and her frame is OK. It's pretty sad.

You know what sucks!? I left my old supercharger kit in my trunk, and I shaved my keyhole, and obviously there is no power. We can't hook a power source up in fear of an electrical fire. How can I get to my trunk? Can I take the back seat off to get to it? Is there a switch from the inside that I can reach into by sticking my hand inside the center console?

This all is still sinking in....I won't be leaving the org though...I still have Off Topic....and I'm sure i'll post a thread when I get another vehicle, whenever that may be. Man my neck is starting to hurt....
The unlock mechanism on the door should work, don't think there are wires. Not sure. But on a lighter note YOU FINALLY GOT THE ROOTS working. Too ****ing bad this **** ended like that. You know what, when I finally decide to go F/I I'll get a roots sytem to honor your ride. Only reason I think the vortech is a POS is because it has no torque, yours had major *****. Sad loss...

That mechanism doesn't work without battery power.

Well I hope you will be able to enjoy the new setup. At least I proved that it can be done, fairly easily. I am soo upset that I couldn't get to at least stretch it's legs. I had soo many tuning plans for it, and first impressions at WOT were good, and I loved the sound. I would rather have the sound of my Max with that blower then a V8 anyday. So upset about that, but I try not to think about it, because it only makes things worth.

Woah... Glad you walked away from it. It could have been much worse.

you need to call a laywer ASAP (if you haven't already) and be sure to let the lawyer know how much work was put into that car- especialyl with the brand new SC in it.. Your time (as well as the shop's) must be compensated for, as the car can't be replaced by just heading to the local dealership and pointing at a car. there's no reason for you to lose everything you worked so hard to make because someone else decided to screw up.
This is why people are required to have insurance. Now make them use it.

Sorry to hear about it, I know the feeling of having a car totaled because of some stupid women driver. It never feels good. I didn't really have any money put into my car, but it was my first car and I was heart broken.

Craig I am glad you were able to get out of that, looks pretty bad. Cars are replacable, people arent. I hope you can get yourself another Max and switch over most of the stuff that is salvagable. I loved your Max, one of the cleanest on the board.

Holy crap Craig. I'm sick to hear about that accident. Geez, glad you're okay. I'm gonna post some links you will NEED tomorrow morning. Read them so you don't get joked on by the insurance company.

Thanks for the encouragement guys.

It almost makes things worse to hear all the encouragement from everyone in a sense, because it makes me feel like i've failed the Maxima community in the sense that everyone was looking forward to the new roots kit, and all that stuff. Almost like it was my job to represent my car and the stuff on it, and now that it's gone i've "failed" that job.

I could get another Max and transfer all the stuff over, but I don't know how I feel about that. I hate to go from my pinnacle of the Max to another max that would obviously start off at least as a lot less. It may just be time to move on to something else. I aint ready to go, but such is life...

Don't feel like you owe us anything man... the Roots kit was something you did for yourself, who knows how many people laughed it off before they saw proof. You went and pioneered something on your own, that's an accomplishment. You'll be back again, with a Maxima or not. Take care of yourself in the meantime. Get a lawyer and if you're not feeling completely fine in the morning get yourself to a doctor. You don't want to miss something and be paying for it the rest of your life.

Sorry to see such a nice looking Maxima out of commission. If I were you, I'd just rip out the back seat to get to your trunk if you can't pop the lock. Hope it all works out for you man. Keep your chin up.

really sorry to hear about this...

short story:
I was heartbroken and wanted to die when I totalled the '86 560SEC benz I used to drive...
two months later I bought my maxima, and absolutely fell in love with her.

this sucks right now, but you'll get your happy ending, don't worry. be glad you're ok in the meantime.

Craig,

I've watched you and your max grow over the few years and its sad to see the car go, but better the car than you! I lost my car this summer also, but time helps with healing those emotional wounds. PLEASE go get your neck CHECKED!! It could end up being way worse in a couple of days, and document everything! Good luck with it ALL!

Craig, sorry to hear about the accident. I'm not too surprised at how much damage your car sustained and the other car didn't have as much damage. As you should know, the 95-96 models don't fair too well in accidents. Past tests have prove that. Anyway, just glad you are not hurt. As far as the next car, definitely get something else, not another Maxima. Time to move on.

I SOOooo wanted to see what happened with the roots blower on a dyno.

I hope you don't give up! Use the insurance money to buy your car back, then find a super clean 4th gen. and swap everything. That would probably cost more then $12K though.

VERY very sad to see your car like that Craig, but I hope your V8 dreams come true now.

I'm gone for 2 days and Craig manages to make Roots SC work and then his car gets totalled!!! I'm glad you're okay Craig and I'm sorry.

I would definately go to the doctor and document any problems you're having. Do not sign anything from the insurance company saying you're okay. Definately don't claim any injurys if your really don't have them, but if you're having problems then you should be compensated for them. Right off the bat you can expect to get 30-40K for minor neck and back injurys.

Have fun with the F-Body because we all know that's what you're going to get

Here's a combo for a low 12-second F-Body:

2000-2001 LS1 AUTO!!! with the 3.23 gear (optional gear) ~12-14K
high quality Yank 3000rpm stall torque converter ($1300 converter, install)
Mac headers ($500)
catback ($300)
intake lid ($100)
revised MAF setup ($70)
front/rear adjustable competition shocks ($1100)
M&H racemaster drags ($300)

This setup has netted consist 12.2@108mph with 1.7 60' here in KC. I'd expect better ET/MPH on a sea level track.

Go drive an F-Body and you'll see just how awesome it really is.

Some of these, just read for reference, you don't have to sign up for them. Basicly, MAKE SURE you sit down and write every mod/maintanance/repair you have done up to now. This is on top of finding the best examples of your year maxima out there.

And yes, as others have said, make a doctor's appointment TODAY.
