Sept 23 I had to park in the street over night. I didn't want to, but I had to. The next morning I went out to my car, and the first thing I noticed was broken clear plastic underneath the car. Walking around front to inspect it, I see that my car had been hit! A damn hit-and-run. Front bumper, fender, and corner light all damaged!

I have liability (bullsh!t insurance) and they would not cover it unless we found out who did it and if the person was not insured. Well, I have a friend who goes to school for 3 classes, then leaves to a vocational school where he studies auto collision repair. He offered to take my car in as one of his assignments, telling me that I would only have to pay for parts, paint, and supplies. He told me that he would have to have my car for about a month and his instructor told me that I would probably be paying around $300 (compared to an estimate at a top-notch collision repair place of $1100).

4 weeks later I got my car back! DAMN! It looks good. There is only a slight imperfection in the paint, barely noticable.. It looks as if a piece of hair dried in it.. only about 1/2 inch in length. For $300 I was a satisfied. On top of it all, I couldn't be happier to have my car back. Sorry my digicam is broke, otherwise I would provide pics.
