Pics from the Stillen show....

Massive Maxima turnout this time but ended early because of rain. I was just about to get my car dynoed and they decided to call it off. They had 6th gens with body kits and some sick looking G35 coupes and sedans. Here are some pics from the show....

Giovanni (kloogy) and Hoon (Irvine78) can't believe it's raining

I called kloogy at 2ish and he was still there. The rain had stopped about an hour after I left. Only 10 cars got to dyno. I'm not sure who dynoed the best but there was a G35 6 speed coupe that dynoed at 268 with intake and exhaust.

Kev didn't show

Cheston was there

Alot of Maximas showed up, not sure if any were tubo'd

Spent most of the time touring the bldg., only saw one 2004 Maxima. Nice wheels with 20 inch rims with 275X35X20 rubber, lowered with Eibach springs & OE struts.

not sure if you know, but if you lay down a "sprits" of color while laying the carbon fiber, it comes out in different colors. Hence the carbon fiber on the fenders and bumper as well. Most people just do black CF, because it requires no extra work and it's hard to tell what color it will come out when you add paint. This would be a full CF front clip, bmw guys don't play around.. wish we had more maxima guys like them.

looks like a cool show, wish we had some of those out here.

Acutally it was the front clip, trunk, and rear bumper.

Good info on the color carbon fiber. Another member mentioned that it was dyed fiberglass.

I really can't believe that. #1 because VIS has always done CF, and when you lay fiberglass and CF, it is basically the same thing. BUT, you add paint to the CF layers to change the color. Trust me, it is carbon fiber colored during the building process, it may look like dyed fiberglass, but in essence that's what carbon fiber is (fiberglass) that is laid a certain way. This is to my knowledge, from what I have been told. If that isn't CF, how did they dye the weave??

on that bmw.. i would put down money that it is color added to the resin of the carbon fiber. I realize how carbon fiber works, maybe i twisted my wording around or something. but when you look under a lot of cf stuff you see fiberglass, and if it is a colored carbon fiber you often see color.

a friend of mine has an orange cf hood, and all underneath it is orange fiberglass, but the top is orange cf... that bmw has got to be the same way, how can they dye a pattern into those parts, unless there is some new fiberglass cloth that gives that pattern that i dont know about?
