Bent rim!!!! What to do now.....
Well, I bought some 17x8 Enkei RPM2 wheels with Kumho tires about 2 weeks ago from somebody on the org. One of my reasons for switching from 18" rims to 17" is because I was worried about bending a rim. When I had the wheels installed, I decided to not have them balanced because they were only used for a few months before I bought them. As I was driving home, I noticed a little vibration in the steering wheel. I eventually got the tires all to the same pressure, yet the vibration remained. I knew it wasn't my alignment because I had had it done about a month ago.
I finally got tired of the vibration and took it to get it balanced. On the 4th rim they balance, they tell me it's bent. They balanced it perfectly, and put it on the back, but I'm still getting minor vibrations.
I am waiting for the seller of the rims to get back to me, but in the meantime, I would like to get some info about possibly fixing the rim. The guys at the shop told me it's pretty much impossible to fix a bent aluminum rim. I thought I had heard otherwise, but whatever.
What options do I have? I don't think the bend is too bad because it's not letting out air, but it's enough to feel in the car. Thanks guys.

slightly bent wheels aren't bad to fix at all, IF the wheel itself can take it. the front lip on the newer style with the polished lip- don't bother trying to repair them..
but usually the inside lip can easily be fixed if it's a small bend. if you're not getting crazy vibrations, then I would say it's probably fixable.
There are places out there that will fix them for $110-150 per wheel, including total reconstruction and refinishing if that's what you want. at that point it may be easier to hunt down one new wheel though.
