short circuited electrical system?
short circuited electrical system?
What i did was really stupid. I used my key to try to get out the map light bulb in my car. The bulb which i thought was broken turned on for a second and then went off. Now all my interior lights don't work but everything on the dash does. In addition to my dome lamp, map lights, and door lights not working my automatic door locks don't work. Does anyone know what I have to do to fix itIs it just fuses or did i mess the whole electrical system up? All help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Umph blew a fuse that always sucks. Regardless check them out left of the steering wheel down a little you'll see the cover. Look on the back of the cover for the diagram of whats what. Hopefully you still have the little tool in there to pull the fuses otherwise use a set of needle nose pliers.
This of course is all assuming your at least a 4th gen. Not sure where the 3rd gen fuse box is...

does it look like...

this... been there done that.
i can only guess what generation maxima you have but for the 5th it's a 10 amp miniature fuse (no the big 10amp ones) and these suckers ARE expensive. but i just got a pack of 25 since i kept blowing them trying to backlight my sunroof controls from the map light power feed.
it's like the 1st or 2nd from the left on the middle row in the fuse box at the bottom of the dash, left of the steering wheel. i think there are 3 rows anyway.
ps. if your headlights are auto, if you blow that fuse the auto setting won't work either. just for reference
pps. actually you should have a spare. nissan put spares of 10 15 and 20 as the most right fuse.. it should say on the label on the fuse box cover. so you can just pull that one and replace it.
