I posted a roadkill a couple of months ago. I was racing a integra and a mustang, and pulled away using my NOS. One reply said "that would be a lot easier with the UPRD ecu" I run what is sopposed to be 40 shot(40-45)hp. If somone can get to the track or post some times close to mine(in an auto)I would jump on the ecu in a second. This is NO WAY a flame session or am I trying to dog anybody out. But if the ecu can give what I am gaining with the little bit of NOS I am using I would surely get the ecu. And congrats to those who have got the UPRD and enjoy it. I know its not all about the track times and how fast you can go but for us that have 97 thats a lot of money to spend in getting another ecu and having it done at UPRD. For .2 tenths and 2-3mph is not a lot(in my opinion) since I droped over a second with the NOS. I know how hard it is to gain mph in the 1/4 I have over 330 timeslpis. One more thing I ran 15.2@90 on 205/45/15 drag radials on the motor and 14.1@96 on 17s!! when I ran the NOS So when I get some more drags I should be in the 13s for sure. Someone come with some low 14second time slips and we could have another UPRD buyer..

i thought

I thought if you took a 96 ECU and put it in a 97 it would work, i remember reading that on your site. so all he has to do is get a 96 ecu, right.

The great thing about NOS is the immense torque gain. No ECU will give you the torque NOS can. A 40-45hp shot of NOS will give about 60-65 fwtq. NOS isn't about adding topend power, it gives you power everywhere.

According to the dyno results of the UPRD ecu, it appears that much of the gains are from idle to 4000 rpms. While this gain will do little for a 5 speed with a good 3500 rpms launch, a auto will probably make some decent gains because it can't launch at the rpms a 5 speed can.

Unfortunately for everyone, the UPRD ecu has yet to be track tested (not even G-Tech'd). All we have to go on right now is testimonials.

That only works for 97's.. 98s have a digital odometer..

This ecu thing has way too many threads

oh yah, btw, i think comparing nos to an ecu is pretty silly.. ecus dont need refills (neither does a sc, so on..)

Oh but how about both?

As soon as our friend gets back from Vacation at UPRD.
I plan to get the NOS ECU for my 96 5spd. What a beautiful thing. First 75 shot them fuel upgrade and gauses to go to a 100 shot later. Muahahahaha. I'll have to rename my Max from UncleMax to KillerMax. I just hope it doesn't end up BlownupMAX again. Hehehe

Long ago when we went to the strip. Don did one pass off the bottle and it was a 14.9 at 92mph with a bad launch. I believe he had CAI, Y pipe, UDP, greddy exhaust and JWT ECU with nitrous. On the bottle he ran a 13.3 at 105 and beat a supercharged Cobra . The look on that guy's face was the funniest thing I ever seen. For the auto the ECU helps alot more because it gives you about 7-11tq gain from 2000-5000rpm. As you know due to the tall gearing of the auto the rpms always land around 4000 in the next gear.
