I had the SS Y-pipe installed this afternoon. I took a nice shake down cruise immediately afterward. First impressions:
QUALITY: Elegant. Precision TIG-welded joints. Perfect 10.
FITMENT: No problems. No bumping, rattling, rubbing.
NOISE: LOUD rumbles around town with my Greddy Cat-Back system and B-pipe. You notice this especially on start up, lift-throttle coast downs, and WOT. I don't really care about the noise, as this is my toy. Cruising at 40mph and 70mph, however, results in a surprisingly quiet ride. For those of you who shift by ear, be prepared: Many of the usual cues are different. I am adjusting quickly, though.
PERFORMANCE: HOLY ****. I sure did get a nice boost from this piece. The car is tons faster than before. It took me a little while to adjust to it. As a matter of fact, I was a little intimidated by it at first! (Does the term "big brake kit" occur to anyone?) For example, I have an on-ramp I like to "heat up" here in Memphis. I can accelerate to 80mph before I have to merge left. I've never been able to attain a higher speed there. With my Y-pipe in place this afternoon, I checked my speed as I merged left, and I was startled to see that I was going 105mph, and still pulling like a Clydesdale stallion. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeee-Haaaaaaaaaaa!

If I didn't have to work tomorrow, I'd still be driving around town. Wow. What fun. Thank you, Cattman!

I had them for both of my cars, and short from a Super Charger, this is the best mod avail.

The TIG welded is so much prettier and robust than MIG. FYI, Stillen is MIG welded since I have one.

I think you're going to like it. All those cars out on 281 are gonna be running scared of you, 'migo. Especially out there by the airport... You can teach all those folks who are test-driving cars from Gunn Nissan how to rock & roll! Have fun with it...
