New mufflers...interesting..anyone have borla?

I was just looking into all the decent muffler options. I ran across a couple new complete systems. The 5 zigen border gt cat back..but says it takes 6 weeks to get. Also there is a site that says they sell the greddy pe exhaust system for our cars..lol. So anywho..

I was wondering if anyone has a borla muffler? If so whats the model, and please feel free to describe sound levels..both inside and outside the vehicle. Thanks

How does that sound? I am thinking of going with a budget resonated b & budget y with magnaflow SS muffler, but I am afraid that it will sound raspy. Another guy recently was complaining that his warpspeed b/y with magnaflow sounded horrible.

A y-pipe, resonated b-pipe and a magnaflow muffler will be loud and not very pleasing to the ear. It's basically a straight through exhaust, since a magnaflow is nothing more than a big glasspack.

What I did was a warpspeed y pipe, a custom b-pipe (2.5") with a turbo muffler where the stock resonator is, and a magnaflow 14829 as my "muffler". It's louder than stock but not annoying. In theory it should flow pretty well because the turbo muffler is only 2 chambers and the magnaflow is straight through. It sounds deep and quite nice at low rpms, but my intake is easily louder at WOT except for a few instances, which are 5000rpm and 6400+

I love how people use the term "turbo muffler"
WTF exactly is a turbo muffler by your definition?
The one's that walker sells?
Goerlich?
raven?
Exhaust is all about tone.
What you like I may not like
and what I like you probably don't
Personally I don't run with a muffler or resonator currently.
Just a 2.5" cat back past the bumper
Of course when I replace my exhaust I'm gonna chamber it for that real smooth tone of days and cars long gone

I sell all sorts of mufflers, Just check out my line card

Magnaflows sound nice at idle, but if you have a y-pipe....DRROOOOOOOOOOONE. I got ride of mine a few weeks ago, it sounded nice but it was just a bit much IMO. Ill search for a thread about a borla muffler in a sec, Ill also find some soundclips

internetautomar: ITs just a model name, thats all.

Edit: Here is one oldschool borla thread. Click

...and for some soundclips (non of borla though) but take it or leave it. SoundClips

I've got a borla thumper muffler that was on a 97 Integra for 4 months. It's up for grabs, but I can't get it to anyone until March. I guess I'll just post it then. It'll be fairly cheap. It cost $300 brand new. I can probably get rid of it for around $150.

I'm doing something similar with a cattman y, and 2.5" back to the stock muffler. I've got to be careful with my inspection coming up. i'm also moving back to nh where they are sticklers for mods. i should know...my dad is a state trooper!

I have a Ypipe, stock cat w/ 80k on it, Bpipe with a resonator, and Borla Pro/Xs muffler.

I had the whole system as described for a year now, and I still love it. It is pretty quite, and there is NO DRONE at all. At WOT the intake is so much louder than the exhaust.

I love my Borla muffler, and I always recommend them if you want a muffler that is not too loud, but gives a nice rumble...

I run pretty close to the same setup right now. Very little tone around the muffler but in the car you cant hear anything from the exhaust at all. Hell I cant complain

As far as your setup, I strongly recommend you get just a test pipe like the one on custommaxima.com its only like $30 & your not destroying an expensive OEM cat converter

You can buy a universal borla muffler from their website, but they are very expesinve, about 300 bucks and up...I would like to hear the sound clip if you decide to go that way

WTF is quite?? Every exhaust thread it turns up, gaw head and search. I think you all mean QUIET.....sorry had to do it

Stock exhaust has an approximately 10 foot resonator. Once this is gone it gets real loud.

I had a 20" resonator which is pretty damn close to the same size as the OEM resonator. It STILL droned. The one thing that makes the biggest difference is the y-pipe.

search my post "borla, ultimate setup." use a high quality resonated bpipe such as stillen and weld on a pro XL muffler made for bigger cars. the longer muffler body will make the tone more mellow. it's probably easier to just order the OBX greddy style. it's way quieter than my setup. don't forget a nice ypipe.
