Why pay $75+ for PIAA ion bullcrap
go into any motorcycle shop and buy the glass sleeve that goes over your stock bulb. they cost 7-10 beans each and come in yellow, blue, purple, etc.
they work the same as city lights. they come in a h4, h3 housing stub for mounting. when your fogs burn out, just buy the $2-4 replacement bulb from auto zone.

First the Lexus look with everyone copying Altezzas, now in reviewing different internet forums, everyone is copying the Lexus fogs....

SO i don't have to bother buying "yellow" fog bulbs, right? All i have to do is buy a pair of glass sleeves and that'll make my fog like the "Yellowest"?

Sounds like that will dim the lights significantly huh? As much as I like the Lexus look, it seems like EVERYONE likes it and is copying it now. I'm thinkin I'll stick with matching the HID's. Thats a cool look too.

Do you have any pics of the sleeves on the car with the fogs on? I want to see how it looks like.

Thanks

agreed, pics would help out a lot, just to see how it looks. I'd like to see how much light is lost with a cap on the bulb

Funny how everyone wants that "yellow" look for their fogs, and the people who have that "yellow" look want to replace it. I have it stock on my car and im not gonna mess with it.

oh btw, its not the bulb that makes it yellow, I know on my car its a cover over the bulb, and a color filter inside the foglight housing that makes everything yellow.

On the Lexus's, the fogs use regular bulbs, but appear yellow because of the projector style foglight. Ours aren't projectors, so we probly wont be able to get that very yellow look to the lights. But I'd still like to see some pics of those covers

if we use the glass sleeve that goes over our stock bulb, will we lose visibility?

There is no way those sleeves will give it the Lexus yellow. The Lexus fog light LENSES are yellow.

On the flip side, these might be useful for tinting the color of your bulbs a wee bit. I am having trouble matching my 7000k HID bulbs to my fogs and a hint of blue just might do the trick.

Ya they do make all different color sleeves. The purple ones might match as well

The hole for the H3 bulb barely clears the bulb, there is no way that sleeve is going to fit.

Is there something im missing?

Now that I think about it, Dixit is right... There is no friggin way that thing is going to fit inside the fog housing.

These are crap. The only bulbs that are even remotely like the lexus is the PIAA Cystal Ion bulbs. They dont look like yellow from looking at it. But puts a nice Yellow on the ground.

I know that the H4 cover fits in the H3 housing for 2nd Gen Integras and that isn't all that big. I saw this suggestion a while ago on a site when I was trying to figure out how to change the foglights on mine. I was looking for pictures, never really found them, but people said that it isn't a true yellow, but it gives off a decent effect.

nothing will be exact as the lexus yellow but it comes close. take the glass off the h4 and buy a reg h3 housing and use some imagination with epoxy.

um...they can look good on many types of cars, but yellow fogs have never been on my list as atractive mods for a maxima. Wouldnt putting a lens/filter over the light pretty much dim it? I dont get the point anyway, unless you do it just for better fog visibility

yellow light has a better wavelength for use in snow, rain, and fog......so using colored glass could improve visability.

I went with Polo's suggestion and used the Lamin-X protective film to simply cover the OEM fogs. There is no loss of light or swapping out parts. I have no regrets (especially for 20 bucks). Oh, and the main reason for the film....to protect the fog lights themselves.

I agree NARVA are cheap and really bright. I don't know about this filter thing it doesn't sound like it would really work. This sounds like another "get a cheap mod for cheap price thing".

i have been looking at fogs lately and i noticed that the infinite SUV/pathfinder in the 2k and 2k1 years have a yellow fog light with projectors..anyone have a set of these that they can compare to our 4th gen lights they look similar..maybe they can be a replacement with or with out madification...

just some food for thought.

I've raced supercharged and turbocharged Maximas countless times. And Lost. Ask Jaime or Bags.... (and a couple others with the setup)

But your Red Herring argument is silly.

My Suggestion, get PIAAs and maybe the green cover. With HIDs, just a bulb gets drowned out. With both, it intensifies the hue thus making it more green/yellow.

Lexus does use a green housing, the bulb is a regular 9006 bulb. The funny thing as stated before, people with the green fogs love swapping it out for clears or HID fogs.

Me, I think the yellow fog look is a Lexus trademark, you can tell it's an ES/GS/IS a mile away. I hate when I look up thinking it's a Lexus and come to find out it's another car with yellow fogs.

Functionality, Lexus uses the yellow fogs to help reduce the glare in rain and fog.

Yellow fogs are for Jeeps and Hummers and any other truck. Gay is the word for Maxima's. can't anyone accept that they have a Nissan, not a flashy-pants Toyota? You want cool crap like yellow fogs, buy a Lexus.

Yellow fogs help you see better in rain/fog genius. Why do you think "Jeeps and Hummers and any other truck" have those lights? Because their original functions were to be driven in harsh terrains with harsh weather conditions, not to have "cool crap" while driving the kids to soccer practice.

It has nothing to do with being "a flashy-pants Toyota".

The idiocy of some people.
