ACT Pressure plate w/Stock clutch disc! Test drove the car! Good combo
As some of you already know I did my 5 speed swap in 1.5 days. Shifter support bracket was sent to me broken. Today my brother beat me to fabricating one. I was going to make one out of wood. He made one out of steel. For a 15 yr old kid, I admire him for his better ideas
Now for the good stuff. I have a metal stock flywheel (fidenza out of stock:rolleyes), ACT Pressure plate and stock Disc. I used this combo because I am very very low in funds. My brother test drove the car first since he fixed it. He said it felt like a ACT setup. Went to the gas station filled her up and then I drove. I aint going to even lie, I placed the pedal to metal and the clutch grabs/clamps very hard. The car feels 10 times faster then before. I will miss an auto daily driver.
My verdict for this, the clutch feels like a ACT kit!
I am planning on boosting the car, I will have further reviews to see how much boost this setup can handle. I am not planning on going full 300HP. The most I will probably see is 280-295HP/torque. What this means to guys that dont want to spend over $300 on a new ACT kit, you may not need to spend that amount.
I used all used parts except for the clutch lines & clutch seals those were purchased new.
Used ACT pressure plate
Used 61K Stock clutch disc (my stock one) was almost new condition
Used stock steel flywheel 51K(not resurfaced)
Used Throw out bearing 23K on it
Used clutch cylinder
Used tranny 2001 tranny w/23K
Hope this info helps you guys w/future plans.

nice work!
yeah thats the way the cookie crumbled. He ordered a 4th gen tranny, I ordered a 5th gen tranny. We both get along so I needed something off his tranny and he needed a part of my tranny. So we flip flopped the parts and all worked out just fine

Hal Ill get you more pics, I am very booked working on a Altima that has Electronic fuel injection problems. Its wooping my azzz. I am onto finding the limits of this setup.

You obviously dont get out. Do you know how many accidents happened on the 75N? try to find out. Lets put it this way. I kicked everyone out of my car since its slammed and made a U turn on the freeway
. Then had everyone cross the median and went back south and took back roads to get to the place I was going to today which was exit 288. Then on my way back Freeway is packed S/N bound. What do I see at the strip? another accident. This is not the time to film. When everyone goes home.
im sure its still better to buy an act disc.....the oem may wear out faster? perhaps act grabs better? why be cheap on the disc if you spend 400 on labor, unless you do it yourself...

I was not being cheap! changing a clutch to me is like changing an air filter.
When the disc goes out I may go with a soft girly Dual friction clutch or another name brand clutch. This car wont see no more then 300Ponies. I am not worried about this. This was discussed no one volunteered. So I did it. All my parts are used and they work just fine. I typed that I am low on funds, which means I am low on cash.
Ooooh and by the way I did this 5 speed swap w/out ever looking at directions. I did have (ramius83) Eric Drill the holes and tap two wires.

For the turbo car I am using redline MT-90 GL4. They have a new GL4 formula out. Cost $9.99 a quart and bought 5.
For the daily driver that I just converted I bought NAPA brand GL4 @ $12.99 a Gallon. Just bought a gallon. You can clearly see the difference. Whenever someeone breakds this clutch I am getting redline for this car.

BTW, I've had my ACT clutch and disc for 1 year now (20,000 miles). It wasn't till last weak that it was finally broken in. The ACT combo can take some awesome abuse. I hope your act/oem offers the same realiability as my ACT combo!
