Emissions...specifically new CT testing

Hey guys...got a 97 and all of use in CT are doing the new testing. Ive heard that for OBD-II cars the just hookup the scanner and do not put the exhaust sniffer on it. What are they looking for on the scan? Just for the codes to be cleared or can they pull up other numbers?

they check if any codes are present oe if any codes were cleared recently. Not sure but they only look for emission related codes.

I'm not sure if the 92's came w/OBDII (I would assume they didn't), but when I brought mine to the new test they used the sniffer...

96+(all cars) are OBDII.

hmm...i just reset my ecu yesterday...should i wait to go in to get it checked? How long should i wait if i hafta?

did it have any codes? If it was 0505 and you just reset it for no reason it shouldn't matter.

As long as your engine light is off ,your car will pass. Trust me I use to work at emissions.

well mines says i dont have to go till 10 /04 when i checked my vin# online, but will i pass with y-pipe, highflow cat, and catback sense they dont hook up the exhaust?
